New group managers and new themes for 2024

NEW DATE: TUESDAY - 27th February @ 7 pm
From February, Simon Lower and Frederique Bellec will be taking over the IA Group meeting. Bill Hart-French has been looking after this group for the last twelve months but now he is moving on. The meeting will follow a slightly different format. We will have primary submissions based on a monthly theme as usual as well as secondary submission that will be an inspiration photograph chosen by the previous meeting. A sort of photographic Pass-the-Parcel!
PART ONE
The monthly theme will follow a general thread throughout the year based on 80s music. Each month we will choose a line taken from a song to be interpreted loosely as the theme for the next meeting. Bonus point for whoever can guess the song!

As we move around the city, we are bombarded by all sorts of messages, in the shape of billboards, neon light signs, giant screens, writing on clothing, etc. Give another meaning to these messages in your photographs. The images must feature some text, any text. That’s the message, that’s the theme for the month!
PART TWO
The photograph above chosen as our inspiration photo is by none other than Bill Hart-French. Whether you are sharing pictures or not, come along. If you want to share some pictures for the evening. Number your pictures in the order you want to show them. Try to limit your images to around 10 if possible.
It’s a great opportunity to meet up with lots of members. See old friends, make new friends. Chat about photography, share information and tips and just generally have a good evening. Oh, and there will always be good photographs.
