If you know someone who is a member who ISN'T getting the newsletter please LET US KNOW and we'll fix it as soon as possible.

GALLERY 1885 | Whats Happening

Gallery 1885 at the Camera Club is pleased to announce a new exhibition by portrait photographer Ian Greaves and specialist printmaker Dr Peter Moseley who will be showing the contemporary dance work of FRED WHISKER.

Fred originally served in the army on the front line in WW2 for 5 and-a-half years. Upon returning he bought his first camera for £70 and went to The Prince of Wales Theatre to shoot the 'revue' sessions.

Coming from a working-class background that he found very mundane, Fred enjoyed the challenging environment of blending in with the 'semi-intellectual crowds' but also producing quality prints from his limited equipment, which led to him seeking out experiences that would continue to test him and his skill.

Fred will be turning 100 this year and in honour of his life's work we will be displaying his work in Gallery 1885 from the 4th - 28th of October with an open view on Saturday 8th October at 3pm.

Imageart: Exposed - September - BLUE

The Camera Club's ImageArt: Exposed is our monthly social event where members get together to share work and discuss all things photography. To spice things up we have organised a Rainbow Photography Challenge, where we create (or share from our archives) images that are inspired by the different colours of the rainbow. We have taken one colour every month, starting with red in May, orange in June, and yellow in July. The SEPTEMBER theme was BLUE.

All members are welcome to participate, and you can share some of the previous colours at the next meeting if you have not had a chance to share them before.

ImageArt:Exposed happens on the last Wednesday evening of every month from around 7:00 pm to 8:30pm. All members welcome!

This month's theme will be OCTOBER: INDIGO.
