Ian Greaves Bursary for Young Photographers
Goal:
The Camera Club sees encouraging young photographers and providing the opportunity and facilities to develop their skills as a core part of its mission. Ian Greaves is one of our longest serving member photographers, and we are excited to recognise his continued support for young photographers with this award.
Exhibition: 11th to 16th of May 2026
Bursary Format:
A competitive exhibition with entries and winners selected by a judging panel of club photographers. Two winners will each receive a full year’s membership, studio/darkroom orientations, use of the facilities, and access to an ‘expert library’ of skilled photographers from the Camera Club, whom they can approach for training and advice on an ad-hoc, mutually agreed basis.
All those photographers selected for exhibition will be invited to a full tour of the club facilities, including studio taster session, mini-POD and portfolio review (Coffee & Cameras - meet the photographers)
Dates:
Promotion and competition: November 2025 to March 2026. Judging will take place in the first week of May 2026 with winners announced at the Exhibition Opening on the 14th of May.

Print Format and Presentation Requirements
- All entries must be submitted initially as digital files in JPEG format, each no larger than 10 MB.
- Selected photographers will later be asked to provide final physical prints for exhibition.
- Prints should be A3 in size, presented on white mount-board with a maximum outer dimension of 40 x 50 cm.
- Entrants may either create the mount digitally as part of their submitted image or request that the Club mount their A3 prints using the standard white mounts provided for members’ exhibitions.
- Each exhibited work must clearly include the title of the piece, date, and medium (e.g. digital print, film scan, cyanotype, etc.) as part of the submitted details.
- All works must be suitably prepared for display in this format to ensure consistency across the exhibition."
